Some residents of Chipangali constituency have welcomed the move taken by paramount chief Kalonga Gawa Undi to suspend the mobile markets known as Kabwandile in his chiefdom.
Some residents talked to by feel free news, indicated that the move has been long overdue as it posed serious health risks in the wake of the COVID 19 pandemic which has claimed many lives.
Kalima Mbewe from Kapara area says that people should take the directive serious as it is aimed at protecting the lives of the people.
Mr. Mbewe says that these markets lacked a lot of necessities such as water and sanitation which was posing a serious danger to people’s lives.
Meanwhile another concerned resident obster Banda says that the move should be supported as people were not following the stipulated health guidelines.
Yesterday during a media briefing in Chipata, Paramount Chief Kalonga Gawa Undi of the Chewa speaking people of Mozambique, Malawi and Zambia suspended the mobile markets commonly known as (Kabwandile) in his Chiefdom citing the escalating numbers of Covid 19 pandemic.
