Some traders operating in the streets of Chipata have resented the decision by Chipata City Council to have them thrown out of the streets.

George Zulu who conducts his business from Mbanyane bus Station has told Feel Free news in an interview that there is not enough trading space to carter for all the traders in the city.

Mr. Zulu has since advised the Local Authority to come up with spacious and modern markets and trading locations to satisfy the overwhelming demand.

And Geoffrey Phiri another affected vendor says the 7 day ultimatum given by the council is inadequate for them to find alternative trading places.

Yesterday the Chipata City Council gave a grace period of 7 days in which all the street vendors are to vacate the streets and return to designated trading places.
