The Zambia Revenue Authority -ZRA- and the Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board -HELSB- have signed a Memorandum of understanding -MoU-aimed at enhancing loans recovery from student beneficiaries.
ZRA Commissioner General Kingsley Chanda says under the MoU, the authority will ensure that all student loan beneficiaries are issued with taxpayer identification numbers -TPINs for easy tracing.
Dr Chanda further explains that the collaboration with Higher Education Loans and Scholarships Board will also increase the number of individuals obtaining TPINs from ZRA.
He says the authority will support the board to ensure that funds are recovered.
Dr Chanda was speaking during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding yesterday.
Meanwhile, Board Chairperson Charles Mpundu says the board is committed to exploring every opportunity available to ensure that the loan recovery program is a success.
Mr. Mpundu has further appealed to students that are due to repay the loans to apply personal conscious and moral obligation to pay the loans.
